Hi hi, I made hubby promised to bring me out and we both have an afternoon out by ourselves at least once a month. Its an idea I got from reading so many great blogs, and how other great mothers are coping with life. For the past 2 years, we only venture out with the kids in tow. Once in awhile, I'll have hubby bring me out alone - when I am feeling REALLY out of sorts and needed time away from the kids. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the kids, but sometimes they really get on my nerves. With stress both at work and at home, I think I am entitled to a bit of break once in awhile, right?
Last year, after being in the front line of the battle field with Autism for the whole year. We forked out quite a sum of money to go on short vacation twice at the end of the year. Early this year, we headed to the beach. These short trips (even with the kids) are really helping me, just to cool down. Then I plunged hard into work, family and life for a few more months. Like the saying, 'All work and no play makes 'someone' a dull girl'. = All work and no play makes mummy a mean mummy. My temper gets out of control and I know It's time for me to take a break. Again. This time, I suggested a routine of outing at least once a month, without the kids - a meal out, window shopping, a movie at the cinema etc, etc - anything!
Today, we bundled off the kids at my MIL and off we go! We had sushi for lunch. My favourite. To make it even nicer, we had 50% discount off everything we had from the kaiten belt. Then we went to watch a relaxing movie about magicians. Learnt something about the five elements - fire, water, earth, gold and wood. Good one. And the moral value projected? - Life is how you made it. If you believe you can, you can.
Mostly about my children, reaching their milestones, each in their own pace. Added with a dash of mummy rantings now and then. Also get a glimpse of how God's Grace helps us through the ups and downs in life.
