Couldn't think of a title for this. Was having one of those days, when the images of Joy when she was a baby kept appearing in my mind. Of her antics and babbles, of how life seems so perfect at that time. Life is so much different nowadays, and it feels like it has been forever.... that those memories are just dreams. Dreams of my pregnancy, her birth, rolling over, crawling, sitting, standing, walking, running, laughter, and calling mama.... : (
Hubby wrote a special song/lullaby when she was just 5 months old. And I wrote a poem dedicated to her for her 1st birthday. Nowadays, I hardly dare to be reminded of these. Tears will flow...
But I kept telling myself, these moments of journey down the memory lane helps me to stay motivated. I want my girl back. I want her to overcome the binding of Autism. I want her to grow up, to be able to take care of herself, to hold a proper job by herself, having dates, enjoying outings, to see her walk down the isle with the man she love....
Some of these may not come true, but I have to keep on trying and not to give up.
A Prayer
Thousands of dreams,
Thousands of hopes,
Thousands of prayers,
We've offered for you.
Your arrival much awaited,
with much fear and anticipation.
A memory,
not to be forgotten.
But Behold,
God's little bundle of Joy,
has arrived.
A joyous occasion,
A sure celebration.
A dear little thing,
so innocent and helpless.
Your spirit to survive,
has changed our lives,
and turned it upside down.
Your wails and laughter
your pranks and determination
exploring...
with such wonder in your eyes.
You have grown since then.
Yet,
A whole journey awaits you still.
May the Lord bless you,
with Wisdom and Honour,
with the fruits of Grace and Mercy,
with Love in your heart,
With God in your life.
And we pray for patience and understanding,
as we journey with you,
along the way.
Amen.
Dearest Joy, this is a prayer written for you when you were only 1 year old. It seems that it is meant for you every minute of your life.
Mostly about my children, reaching their milestones, each in their own pace. Added with a dash of mummy rantings now and then. Also get a glimpse of how God's Grace helps us through the ups and downs in life.
